Los Angeles ambient and future-pop eight-piece band Sunset Harbinger has recently released its debut EP/album “Finally Home” that has already been taking listeners on a space journey through the stars. Check out the opening track “I Need Another” here:
The band was founded by Grammy-nominated producer and former member of The Decoders Adam Berg (piano/synth) and Ryan Tanner Bailey on guitar (of KiNG LLAMA) fame. The revolving door of musicians featured on the group’s debut album include Joe Gonzales (bass), Blake Collie (drums), Emily Gold (vocals), Evan Windom (vocals), Tracy Wannomae (saxophone/flute), and Todd Simon (trumpet), with each member adding the necessary piece to the puzzle to create a fantasy experience like no other.
The album was written over the span of two years and recorded at Manifest Music in Santa Monica. The final result shows off the duo’s ability in crafting topics of the emotional and complexities involved with self-awareness and the seemingly uncontrollable state of rising government power. Overall, the lyrical direction behind Sunset Harbinger explores the human desire for love and companionship within electronic and instrumental jams.
The indie supergroup is taking downtempo electronica to the next level so be sure to follow them on their continued ventures. To stay up to date with Sunset Harbringer, follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud.
