Southern California indie rock band Island Apollo has recently released their new single “Hold it Down.” Check out the infectious song here:
“Hold it Down” was produced by Eric Lilavois (Saint Motel, Atlas Genius) and recorded at London Bridge Studio in Seattle. Lead vocalist and guitarist Ryan Kilpatrick said recording in another state allowed the band to discover other elements of their sound and try out new ideas, as evidenced in the new single, which features a pop-rock anthem with layered vocals and upbeat guitars that could only have been produced by exploring all their senses.
Island Apollo has been one of LA’s rising indie acts having already been featured on VH1, CBS and Fox Sports as well as in ads by Sprint and Sobe. The band has combined classic surf rock with Red Hot Chili Peppers style funkiness to create a sound that is unmistakably a So-Cal product. Bandmembers come from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego, making this group truly a west coast product.
