The Broke Royals recently released its new single “Higher” from the band’s self-titled debut album. Check out the alternative rock and pop song here:
The Broke Royals is the team of producer Colin Cross and vocalist Philip Basnight who formed three years ago and together they have been called one of the best up-and-coming DC-acts of 2016. Combining rock with pop hooks and electronic elements, they often create fresh and polished tracks that are reflective and inspirational.
The song “Higher” was written as an anthem for “anyone whose heart has ever gotten ahead of itself,” telling the story of a man who dove into love head first without taking into consideration the harsh realities that may come with it. It’s a song that fits their trademark sound they have been perfected over the course of three EPs.

The Broke Royals have toured the country opening for Car Seat Headrest, Real Estate and Andrew McMahon among others and are only beginning their journey. We can’t wait to see what’s next in store for them!
