Melbourne artist and producer Woodes has released a new music video for the ethereal track “Rise.” Check out the soothing and spiritual display here:
The video for “Rise” follows Woodes through a natural and magical world where she teaches other to rise within the unique landscapes that were shot on location in New South Wales Blue Mountains and South Coast. The lyrics in the track delve into the elemental imagery of fire, water and earth, which are also be found in the video.
“For this song when I wrote it I saw fire, cliffs, and smoke,” Woodes said. “The character that formed in my head was strong and she incorporated a range of elements in her design. I collaborated with a friend and director Laura Nagy to bring this vision to life and one by one each element was added. We had been swapping images and references for months after initially meeting at a dinner in Melbourne.”
Most the film crew for the making of “Rise” were women and Woodes said it was beautiful to bring her vision to life surrounded by female energy. She called upon her favorite designers for the outfits she wears in in the clip including Tung Vu (Singapore) and Atelier Harlem (Melbourne) to complete the enchanting visuals.

The song was co-produced by Woodes with Simon Lam (Nearly Ontario/one half of Melbourne duo Kllo) as well as enlisting an all star choir for the backing vocals including: Alex Lahey, LANKS, Lupa J, Nirrimi, Abraham Tilbury, Edward Vanzet, Golden Vessel, Tommy Wilson, Juice Webster, Uncle Bobby, Jaysways and Batts.
