TuskHead’s “Blue” is an Invigorating and Modern Take on Folk Rock

Patrick van Zandwijk, aka TuskHead, is set to release his new song “Blue” coming out on Feb. 5. The singer-songwriter is known for blending together genres such as folk, country and bluegrass in a way that keeps the down to roots spirit of those genres while enliven it with his own signature style. “Blue” is another example of what makes TuskHead stand out above the rest.

Piano and fingerpicked guitars start off the track along with a thumping beat, giving off a sense of calm before the oncoming storm. TuskHead has a very clear and determined voice, serene yet robust, allowing the listener to feel tranquil and mighty at the same time. The song has a buildup of rollicking drums that elevate the track from a traditional Country-inspired tune into a full on anthem, with contemporary production to match up with the popular tracks of our day.

The touching verses and catchy chorus are seized by several powerful guitar solos. “Blue” makes you want to march forward with pride and grab life by the horns. Head bobbing melodies and foot stomping rhythms solidify TuskHead’s latest effort as a keeper in our favorite up-and-coming artist’s playlist.

We hope you are as excited to hear the new song as we were listening to it. To learn more about TuskHead, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and check out his website here. To pre-save “Blue” on Spotify, click the button below.
