Music lovers everywhere will be thrilled to hear the new release of Glasgow-native singer-songwriter Luchi, who has recently released his latest single “Fix This Love” on all streaming platforms on Nov. 20. Today, we go in-depth into the inspiration behind the making of this track and the story behind Luchi’s passion for helping people battle addiction.

Sometimes in life, we know someone who is going through mental or emotional problems and even though we do all we can to help them, we may fall short. This all-too relatable theme is hard to craft music around with the right tone, but Luchi has been able to do it with his latest single. “Fix This Love” comes off the heels of Luchi’s previous song “Mountain,” with the two songs working in tandem with each other to show opposite sides of the same coin. Luchi explains:
“‘Fix This Love’ is the sister song to my last single ‘Mountain’ and shows the other side of the pain and destruction caused by addiction; whereas ‘Mountain’ shows the struggle of the addict trying to find the strength to get help, ‘Fix This Love’ tells the story of the people around the addict who have their lives thrown into turmoil too,” Luchi said. “I really wanted to release these back to back as I felt it was important to represent both sides of the journey and as someone who has had someone extremely close to them fight addiction, I know all too well the pain of being on the other side.”
And the pain he describes can be heard in his bittersweet vocal delivery that emotes a descriptive, heartfelt story. Luchi’s vulnerable lyrics describe a person who just wants to help someone get over their addiction, only for them to be left with shattered pieces of a nostalgic past. This topic is one that many can relate to, and Luchi masterfully describes its consequences while doing it tastefully and artistically.

The instrumentals also do the work of telling the story, as the piano and strings add an elegance to the poetry while the acoustic guitar elevates the track, making the listener feel goosebumps. The overall mix of music and vocals come together to create a passionate and creative statement that showcases the full potential of Luchi’s musical abilities. Although a remarkable song was the result of the effort he put in, the writing process came from a dark place.
“It was probably one of the hardest times of my life, I wasn’t sleeping, eating, couldn’t work to my full potential, waiting by the phone for news, my whole life became consumed with trying to help this person and I wrote this song to get out the anger and hurt I was feeling at the time,” Luchi said. “While I am fully aware that addiction is a debilitating illness, watching someone you love destroy their life is utterly heartbreaking and you feel a whole wide range of emotions, from anger, to hurt, to frustration. While I tried to remain calm and positive when interacting with this person, I wrote this song to get out the other emotions I was feeling. I never intended to release this song if I’m honest as it’s really upsetting for me to sing and takes me back to that devastatingly sad time but I feel that it is important to tell the whole story of how addiction steals more than just the addict’s life.”

Growing up in Glasgow with his Italian family, Luchi has always said that there isn’t much that phases him within the music industry. He first started writing songs at age 13 and then moved onto recording in studios at age 16. His first original material was his debut single “Don’t Look Back,” which made its way to No. 9 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts. His third single “Coming Home” rose to No. 2 on the charts a few months later, with him having 12 further singles crack the top 10. He is also a songwriter for other artists, and has successfully competed in the regional heats of the UK Unsigned Songwriter of the Year 2016 and semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest. Writing camps have also led to him working with the writers behind the likes of Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Spice Girls, Christina Aguilera, Little Mix, Gary Barlow, Paloma Faith, Westlife and Leona Lewis to name a few.
Despite the successes he has had as a singer/songwriter, Luchi stays humble and writes music as a form of free therapy, utilizing his soulful voice and mature lyrics to inspire a whole new generation of singers and listeners alike. By opening up and allowing his emotions to flow out of him, he is allowing others to do the same. Perhaps others will use Luchi’s music as a form of free therapy themselves.
“All the songs I release start from a true life story from my life and I try to write in an honest and vulnerable way,” Luchi said. “As humans, we all go through different situations but underneath, we all feel the same emotions so I hope to bring some healing through my music.”

He certainly has, using his personal experiences to connect with his fans. Luchi’s journey is only beginning though, as he plans to use his voice to set out on a mission to bring awareness to topics that he truly cares about, such as addiction in his latest song “Fix this Love.”
“There are some fantastic organisations out there to support people through having a loved one with addiction problems like AL-ANON and other support groups. I would actively encourage anyone in that position to reach out to get help for themselves on how to navigate this often excruciatingly difficult road. While some addiction stories have a recovery at the end of it, sadly this isn’t always the case,” Luchi said. “I think it’s about time that we have help more readily available for all people battling addiction and it’s something I am passionate about helping change.”
We appreciate Luchi’s effort in music as well as social awareness and encourage those going through these issues to seek out help. To find out more about Luchi, check him out on his socials at TikTok and Instagram and streaming everywhere here.
